The ONLY Source Of Power

Zechariah 4:6: Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Evangelist Wil Rice: . . . you don*t need to be strong enough to work for God; you need to be submissive enough for God to work through you. God is not looking for big people; He is looking for obedient people. D.L. Moody said something to the effect of, *The world has yet to see what God will do through one man wholly and completely submitted to Him.* That is the essence of Zechariah 4. You don*t need to be strong enough to work for God; you need to be submissive enough for God to work through you. God works through obedient people, and God can use you today!

Matthew 28:18: And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

John 15:5: I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

John 17:2: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

John 19:11: Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

Luke 1:35: And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

Acts 1:8: But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 10:38: How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

Romans 15:13: Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.

1 Thessalonians 1:5: For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

Ephesians 3:20: Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

2 Timothy 3:1: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

One important difference between the saved and lost is that the saved know and trust the power of God. If our faith is to grow, it must grow in faith in His power and faith in ourselves must shrink. The more faith we have in our own abilities the weaker we shall be. The more we understand our weakness the stronger we shall be.
